One sunflower has yet to burst into bloom, but this one's brilliant and looks into next door's bedroom window.

Here's a smaller sunflower, from a bunch of roots pulled from my Mum's garden. Loving this sunny yellow in our garden this year.

veggie growing, chicken keeping and all things to do with our garden

2009 was certainly a good year for veg. We had fabulous crops of everything, even the sweetcorn provided us with a couple of tiny cobs! Best of all were the tomatoes and chilli peppers. I grew both indoors with a few extra tomato plants outside which continued to produce until late Autumn. First timers for 2009 were peas - absolutely gorgeous, certainly going to do them again. I did miss my leeks, but used the space for the peas and beans. Will have to squeeze them in somehow this year.
Happy viewing and happy growing!
